The Madrilenian started third at the Portimao circuit in the Algarve, outpacing the Italian Enea Bastianini (Ducati) and the surprising Spaniard Pedro Acosta (GasGas-Tech3). Acosta achieved the very first podium finish of his career. Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Márquez and Maverick Vinales crashed in the final phase. Vinales was the best in the sprint race on Saturday.
