He took pole position for the Monaco GP during qualifying, but it was close to ‘the curse of Monaco’ striking Charles Leclerc again yesterday.
At the very last minute, Ferrari had to perform an engine change on Leclerc’s car and it was highly uncertain whether Leclerc would be able to participate in qualifying. Ultimately, Ferrari mechanics managed to change the engine on his car just in time. Charles Leclerc thanked his mechanics with a pole position.
“We had to change the engine at the last minute and it was doubtful whether the mechanics would be able to do it in time,” Leclerc told ‘Viaplay’. “They have done an incredible job. It wasn’t ideal preparation for qualifying, but we got the most out of it. That was very important.”
