Last month, some hands-on images showing the upcoming Google Pixel 9 Pro leaked, and today the same source is back with more exciting information. Not only does the Pixel 9 Pro star in these leaked hands-on images, but it also joins the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
If you’re wondering, note that the Pixel 9 Pro XL name isn’t ‘confirmed’ yet, but Google is set to launch three high-end flat-style devices this year, tentatively named Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL.
The Pixel 9 will be the successor to the Pixel 8, the Pixel 9 Pro XL will be the successor to the Pixel 8 Pro, while the Pixel 9 Pro will be a phone with similar specs to the XL but in Pixel 9 size.
The Pixel 9 prototype shown here has 12GB of RAM, while the other two have 16GB. Storage is 128GB for all. These numbers may change once mass production units are discussed. What probably won’t change are the screen sizes. The Pixel 9’s are 6.24″, the Pixel 9 Pro’s 6.34″, and the Pixel 9 XL’s 6.73″.
In terms of size, the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are identical, but the difference in display is due to the 9 having much larger bezels. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL have three 50 MP cameras on the back. The Pixel 9, unsurprisingly, has a main camera and an ultra-wide camera, while the other two also add a periscope telephoto, for 5x optical zoom.

All three devices are powered by Google’s Tensor G4 SoC, and while the Pro models support UWB, the vanilla model does not. As you can see in the leaked images, the new design of the Pixel 9 family loses the edge-to-edge ‘visor’ look on the back for the camera island, flattening the bezel entirely.
