The Google Pixel 8a is continuously leaking, and today is no different — in fact, we have two separate leaks to discuss, so let’s get straight to the point. First, there’s another price-related rumor, and this one brings better news than the previous two. Despite earlier claims, today’s report tells us that the Pixel 8a will be priced the same as the Pixel 7a at launch, at least in the US market.
So, if this information is accurate, then expect the Pixel 8a to cost $499 with 128GB of storage and $599 with 256GB. Even if it does happen this way, keep in mind that price increases could still occur in other markets. In fact, the previous two price-related rumors were both about different markets (Europe and Canada), so while it seems contradictory, it might just be that we are discussing different strategies for different regions.

At the same time, we have some newly leaked renders of the device, which show the Pixel 8a in the upcoming original Google case. And there is a twist. While the phone itself is widely expected to come in four colors, the cases will add a fifth for whatever reason – a coral-like hue.

As seen below, the Obsidian (aka black) Pixel 8a is shown in these official images, so it doesn’t appear like Google is actually adding a fifth color to the phone, just offering a fifth case option. Perhaps this suggests that there will be a Coral Pixel 8a released in the line, but it is impossible to confirm at the moment.

The Pixel 8a is expected to be officially announced at Google’s I/O developer conference on May 14, and it should come with the Tensor G3 chipset, a 6.1-inch 90Hz OLED display, a 4,500 mAh battery, a 64 MP main rear camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide, and of course, Android 14 on board from day one.
