Despite Meizu’s announcement to exit the smartphone business, another upcoming phone has surfaced online. The Meizu 21 Note with three cameras has been revealed, one of which has a 50 MP sensor. Live images indicate that the device will be available in at least two different colors, both featuring a similar wavy effect on the back.

This is the first time Meizu has used a camera island where the trio of shooters are aligned in a triangle formation. It is interesting to note that the Note moniker is making a return for the first time since the Meizu Note 9, which was launched in March 2019. The series was known for its large screen, but with the evolution of the smartphone market, the Meizu 21 Note could offer a different appeal.
The company’s CEO, Shen Ziyu, has confirmed plans for the FlymeOS team to transition away from mobile devices and focus on developing new AI terminal devices using globally available LLM (large language models) like Open AI.

This year, the company is expected to launch a new mobile operating system tailored for the AI era. It is anticipated to be compatible with cars from brands like Polestar, Volvo, and Lotus, all of which are part of the Geely portfolio, the company that also owns Meizu.
