Google released the Pixel tablet in June of last year. Initially, it came with a charging speaker dock in the box — a unique pairing that aims to make it usable as a smart speaker when docked. However, this uniqueness may not have convinced too many people that the combo is a must-have, which is why Google is now rumored to stop bundling the dock with the tablet.
According to a tipster on X (formerly Twitter), Google will stop including the dock with the tablet starting May 10. But that’s not all. Not only will you be able to purchase the tablet without a dock, but Google will also eventually release a stylus and a keyboard for the tablet.
These accessories will not be bundled with the tablet either. You will need to purchase them separately, at a cost of €100 in the Eurozone for each. So, if you want both the stylus and the keyboard, it will cost you €200 on top of the tablet’s price. Both accessories will be available in Hazel and Porcelain, two of the three colors available for the Pixel Tablet itself.
If Google stops bundling the dock with the Pixel tablet, we hope that there will be a permanent price cut to compensate for the difference compared to those who received the bundle. However, this is just our assumption, as the source of this rumor did not provide any details on that particular situation.
