Google is currently working on a new Chromecast with Google TV, as confirmed by a reliable source. This device is the successor to the 4K version and comes with significant new improvements.
Chromecast with Google with new remote control
Google has been selling the Chromecast with Google TV and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) for a while now, and we are eagerly awaiting a new version. The ‘regular’ model in particular, which supports 4K, could benefit from an upgrade. According to the generally well-informed reports from 9to5Google, we can expect this soon.
A source has informed the website that Google is working on a new 4K Chromecast with Google TV. This new device will replace the current Chromecast, which is almost four years old. It is rumored to come with a new remote control, as shown in a previous leak.
The button layout on the new remote is different from what we are used to. It will feature a new button at the bottom that can be linked to an app. The current Chromecast remote control has dedicated YouTube and Netflix buttons. Additionally, the new Chromecast may provide faster streaming due to improved hardware.
It is unclear when Google will officially unveil the new Chromecast with Google TV. It is speculated that it may happen during Google I/O 2024, the annual developer conference scheduled for May 14. However, Google has not provided any comments on the launch of a new Chromecast.
