After the Japanese GP, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko was full of praise for Yuki Tsunoda’s performance during the race weekend in Japan.
Tsunoda qualified in Q3 and during the race he managed to finish tenth in the points. It was a nice experience for Tsunoda, especially because he finished in the points in front of his own audience. It was Tsunoda’s second race in a row that he finished in the points and that earned him high praise from Dr. Helmut Marko who believes that Tsunoda rode at ‘the same level’ as race winner Max Verstappen.
“Yuki got away exceptionally well at the second start,” Helmut Marko reflected in his column for ‘Speedweek’. “His overtaking maneuvers were the spectacle of the day. The fans went absolutely crazy.”
“This weekend he was on the same level as Max, Alonso and so on. He was flawless, a super performance and that under pressure during his home race.”
