Nix recently revealed that it will be announcing something on April 18, and today the company let us know exactly what to expect: the Nothing About and Nothing About (a).
These are not typos – we are not talking about the Nothing About (3). Ahead of this launch, the company decided to reset its naming scheme and retire the numbers it used until now to underline each generation of each product. By forgoing the numbers, Nothing says it can “center the focus around the product and the unique experience it delivers for each user”.

This could turn into a confusing mess in a few years when, if we read this correctly, we could have several generations of earbuds all called Nothing Ear. Perhaps we’ll have to use the launch year to make sense of it, as has sometimes been the case with Apple products.
Either way, the Nothing Over (3) is no longer the Nothing Over (3), it’s just the new Nothing Over. And joining that pair of high-end earbuds will be the Nothing Ear (a) to potentially complement the Nothing Phone (2a) in the company’s portfolio as a more affordable option.
Nothing promises to “deliver premium for all which is not about market price but user preference”. We look forward to seeing what the Ear and Ear (a) will bring to the table in a few weeks. Stay tuned for our reviews of both.
