Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed his support for Sebastian Vettel as a possible replacement for his racing seat at Mercedes.
The rumour mill about a potential F1 comeback for Sebastian Vettel continues to gain momentum. Following his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of 2022, speculation immediately began swirling about a potential return. Such a comeback after spending several years away from Formula 1 would not be unprecedented, as drivers like Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, and Fernando Alonso have all made comebacks in the past.
According to Lewis Hamilton, as an F1 driver, the allure of Formula 1 never truly fades, even after retirement. Hamilton expressed his admiration for Vettel and stated that he would be thrilled to see the German driver take his place at Mercedes.
“You’re always going to miss it,” Hamilton remarked in the lead-up to the Japanese Grand Prix. “It’s the greatest sport in the world, the most incredible experience you can have.”
“Working with a team towards victory and achieving something special is an unparalleled feeling. To me, nothing else can compare.
“I would love to see Sebastian make a comeback. He would be a fantastic addition to the team. As a German driver, a multiple champion, and someone with strong values who could drive the team forward, I would be thrilled to see him return.”
