Users of social networks and the Samsung forum have started to express their concerns regarding the One UI 6.1 proprietary firmware based on Android 14. According to them, the update is causing a number of charging problems on some smartphone models. The portal 9To5Google has reported on these issues.
According to a user on the Samsung forum with the nickname Mello_o, his Galaxy Z Fold5 with the proprietary 25-watt charging is now only charging at a maximum of 15 W after the update, even though it was working fine before. Other users have also reported similar issues. Complaints from Galaxy S23 users have also been seen on Reddit and the social network X.
Some users have noticed that their smartphones are heating up more during operation after installing OneUI 6.1. The 9To5Google portal suggests that the increase in temperature is due to the new AI functions in the firmware, rather than a specific problem. However, this explanation does not align with the complaints found online. Concerns have also been raised about heating when idle.
It’s important to note that not all users are experiencing these problems, but the exact cause is still unclear. Samsung has yet to comment on the situation.
