After a disastrous start, the Alpine F1 team plans to introduce a first update for the A425 next race weekend in Japan. That update mainly focuses on weight loss for the F1 car.
Despite various reorganisations, the Alpine F1 team had a very poor start to the season this and last year. Alpine is currently last in the constructors’ championship with zero points and the A524 does not seem competitive enough to compete for points. At Alpine they are working on their way to the front, but the big question is whether the updates will be enough to close the gap with the competition. A first update will follow next weekend.
“In line with our 2024 development plan, we are on track to introduce the first updates on the A524,” said team principal Bruno Famin. “Even though they are not big, it is important to address our issues as quickly as possible so that we can unleash the car’s potential and constantly improve and understand our package better.”
“These updates mainly address the front wing and are a first step in reducing the weight of the car.”
