Today, Honor proudly announced that it has partnered with game developer Gameloft to bring a special version of Asphalt 9: Legends to the Porsche Design Magic V2 RSR. It will run at 120 fps and is “better suited to the large screens on foldable smartphones”, of which the Magic V2 RSR is one.
The partnership will deliver “an unparalleled experience unlike anything seen before, advancing the foldable ecosystem through mutual innovation,” Honor boldly states in its official press release on the matter. Fluid visuals and ultra-fast response times are provided on the large folding screen by “reconstructing the game rendering process, using shadow replacement technology, reimagining physical textures with GPU-based edge reconstruction technology and integrating the graphics rendering capabilities of foldable devices with AI”.
Fei Fang, President of Honor’s product line, said:
Honor continues to establish itself as a key player in the foldable ecosystem through its continued commitment to develop and maintain its competitive advantage through openness and collaboration. Our latest collaboration with Gameloft to optimize gaming on the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR is a testament to our commitment to creating the best foldable user experience for Honor device users. By pursuing collaborations that promote hardware and software integration for foldable devices, Honor aims to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem that provides consumers with the latest technology.
Henry Pan, Vice President of Global Business Development OEM at Gameloft said:
While past precedent has shown that the pursuit of a thin and light design for foldable smartphones has often led to the sacrifice of technological performance and graphics capacity, creating a gap in the market to deliver more advanced gaming experiences. Our collaboration with Honor combines our expertise in mobile game development with Honor’s experience in seamlessly integrating software and hardware into foldable devices to deliver industry-leading immersion with Asphalt 9: Legends for global gamers.
