GTA VI is real and it’s set to be released in 2025. The long-awaited first trailer for the game was released a day earlier than previously announced, with Rockstar Games publishing the video on all its social media channels.
Here is the video:
The first video of the highly anticipated game comes 10 years after the launch of GTA V and 25 years after the founding of Rockstar Games. It is set in present-day Vice City, and we can see many similarities with the real Miami Beach and the state of Florida.
Lucia will be one of the main characters, and for the first time in GTA history, it will be a female character. She is seen in the video with her partner Jason, whose name has not yet been confirmed by Rockstar but has been leaked several times in the past.
The video reveals many vehicles seen in Los Santos, clearly showing that both games are set in the same universe. Graphics will be like nothing seen in any other Grand Theft Auto game, although we barely saw any details as half of the video is short clips of TikTok-tap social media.
The trailer did not specify an exact release date in 2025, nor did it reveal the platforms on which GTA VI will initially launch. Some rumors point to an April 1, 2025 date, which might sound like an April Fools’ joke, but it wouldn’t be surprising given the tongue-in-cheek humor of Rockstar Games.
