Once again, Netflix brings a successful title from the dark lands of other platforms into the light of Android… or something like that. PC? Never heard of it. The newest addition is Death’s Door, a surprisingly happy game for its name. It is still all about mortality, mind you. Just the spirit of the end in this case is a fluffy bird.
Death’s Door is a spooky but endearing title where you take on the role of a low-ranking reaper of souls, a crow. As the funky little death omen, you go about claiming souls and making sure the natural order proceeds as it should. This is fine… until it doesn’t proceed as it should.
Stolen Souls
A very special soul has gotten away, and it’s up to you to get it back. Chasing after that soul will take you to a world where the normal process of death does not function as it should… which makes everything a lot more complicated.
The game plays as a top-down action title, where you take your questing corvid and a variety of weapons on a journey through the magical lands. It’s a bit dangerous out there, so you’ll need to call upon your combat skills to outfight and outmaneuver hordes of strange and unnatural enemies.
Just Because You’re An Ill Omen Doesn’t Mean You Can’t Make Friends
Not everything living in this world is hostile, though. You’ll run into a cast of quirky characters, many of whom need your help with problems. Maybe if you can assist them, they’ll assist you right back. This comes between trips back to the office, where you can improve your own performance in the field.
Nothing wrong with a bit of career development!
Sound like your kind of thing? If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can play Death’s Door on Android for free as part of your subscription. Head over to Google Play to check it out for yourself.
