Hello there! We are excited to present our first review of a smartphone featuring the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While we can’t reveal details about this specific smartphone yet, we are eager to share the impressive benchmark scores it has achieved.
Below, you will find the top scores from several hardware platforms we have reviewed. Keep in mind that these are best case scenarios, and the average numbers, which we haven’t listed here for brevity, are slightly lower.
Alongside the regular SM8550-AB model of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, you’ll also find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SM8550-AC, an overclocked version used in some devices.
Let’s start with the CPU-intensive Geekbench test. While we didn’t reach Qualcomm’s official numbers, we observed a healthy 22-23% improvement in multi-core performance and around 7-8% improvement in single-core performance.
Next, in GPU testing, we found that the new Adreno 750 GPU outperformed the Adreno 740 inside the SD 8 Gen 2 by significant margins in various graphics benchmark tests.
Notably, our mystery review phone, with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, secured the number 1 spot in our all-time review chart for the AnTuTu benchmark, showcasing an impressive overall performance.
In conclusion, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has displayed up to a 22% net performance improvement in CPU and GPU performance, making it a promising new chipset. Additionally, the device did not overheat during benchmarking, which is another positive sign for this new hardware platform.
We have more information to share next week after completing our stress tests and being able to reveal the identity of this test device with a full review.
