Introducing the vivo Y100i – a new smartphone with a 5G chipset, ample storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery just launched in China. It is already available for pre-order, with the first sales scheduled for Saturday, December 2.
The device is priced at CNY1,599, which is equivalent to $225 or €205 and is a more affordable alternative to the vivo Y100 with a downgrade in the display department.
The vivo Y100i features a 6.64” LCD flat screen with Full HD+ resolution and one punch hole for the selfie camera. The fingerprint scanner has moved to the power key on the right side.
The chipset of the vivo Y100i is Dimensity 6020, built on the 7nm technology and has two performance cores of its CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz with the other six efficiency units operating at 2.0 GHz. The RAM is 12 GB, while storage is 512 GB, making the Y100i only the second vivo Y phone with this much space for files, after its sibling, vivo Y100.
The main camera on the back has a 50 MP sensor and f/1.8 aperture, and it is joined by a 2 MP secondary shooter. The selfie camera has an 8 MP sensor.
The Y100i has a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. Other highlights include OriginOS 3 based on Android 13, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a dual nano SIM slot.
The vivo Y100i is available in pink, blue, and black. We have no information on whether vivo will launch this device outside of China, but anything is possible given how the Y series often makes it onto the international scene.
