The Samsung Galaxy Fold and Flip 5 both feature multiple screens that are used when opening and closing the folding devices. According to a leak, larger outside screens are expected for the Z Flip and Fold 6. Read more about it here.
‘Larger screens on the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 6’
In order to enable the use of Samsung Galaxy Fold and Flip devices when open and closed, Samsung has equipped the smartphones with screens on the ‘outside’. These screens have become significantly larger over the years on both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series. The next series will take it a step further, as mentioned in a positive comment on X.
Ross Young a reliable source, suggests that the cover screens of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will become slightly larger. According to Young, the Flip 6 will have a screen of almost 3.9 inches, which is half an inch larger than what the Galaxy Z Flip 5 now has.
The size of the screen for the Fold 6 has not been released. However, many are speculating about a better screen ratio. One of the major criticisms of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold smartphones is how narrow the screen is on the outside, making it less usable as a ‘normal’ smartphone.
It is good news that Samsung is going to enlarge the outdoor screens. This will expand the possibilities without having to open the folding phones. Especially on the current Flip 5, the use of the cover screen is limited. You cannot run all full-fledged apps on this, but only widgets such as weather checking, making calls, and setting a timer.
