Samsung’s popular midrange smartphones are now being updated to Android 14. The Galaxy A54 and A34 are currently receiving the major software update.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Android 14 update released
Samsung is continuing to roll out Android 14 updates for its smartphones. The Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, popular mid-range devices released earlier this year, are now receiving the update to One UI 6, Samsung’s software based on Android 14, in the Netherlands.
The update, which is over 2GB in size, also includes the November 2023 Android security update, addressing recent leaks and other issues in the operating system. It is recommended to download the update via WiFi and to make a backup of your smartphone beforehand.
Notifications for the Android 14 update for the Samsung Galaxy A54 or A34 will be received automatically. You can also manually check for software updates in the settings. The new version can be downloaded by going to ‘Software Update’ and tapping ‘Download and Install’. This will allow the new version to appear on the screen and begin downloading.
Android 14 is the first major software update for the Galaxy A54 and A34, with guaranteed support for future upgrades to Android 15, 16, and 17. Samsung also promises security patches for five years, until March 2028. So, these phones will remain secure for years to come.

New in Android 14 (and One UI 6)
Android 14 is the successor to Android 13 and brings relatively minor updates in terms of features. However, there are still plenty of improvements to be found in Samsung’s update. This includes a nicer quick settings panel, a new font, and easier customization and lock screen changes.
