Huawei is expected to launch the flagship phones P70, P70 Pro, and P70 Pro Art in 2024, as revealed by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF International Securities. The launch is expected to take place in the first half of the year, and demand for these phones is anticipated to be high. According to Kuo, Huawei will likely sell three times more units than the P60 series managed.

Kuo also predicted a strong annual growth of around 230%, projecting sales of 15 million units of the P70 flagship series, compared to the 4-5 million Huawei P60 devices. Even if the demand is not as high as expected after the launch, the company is anticipated to sell at least 10-12 million units.
This increase in sales will also benefit Largan and Sunny Optical, high-end lens makers and Huawei suppliers, as they are expected to see a “significant growth in shipments” during the off-season. Huawei aims to return to market shelves worldwide with camera specifications better than ever.
Huawei P50 Pro vs P40 Pro
The Huawei P70 is said to have a 5P lens and a 1/3.6” telephoto sensor, while the P70 Pro duo will have a 6P zoom lens with a 1/2.5” sensor at the back.
The Art version will stand above those two, as Huawei plans to use a 1G6P lens (one glass and six plastic layers) and a 1”-type sensor for the ultra-wide-angle camera. It will be extremely expensive to manufacture, as the cast glass is more difficult to make than a regular 7P lens, and this is where Largan and Sunny Optical will benefit financially.
Huawei P40 Pro and P40 Pro+
Huawei bringing a new camera to the world market is likely to make other manufacturers follow suit with similar solutions, especially if the Huawei P70 series is welcomed on the world stage. The phones will also come with new Kirin chipsets with 5G connectivity, addressing one of the main issues that have kept Huawei’s flagships from taking off in the past three years.
