Huawei held a product launch event in China earlier today, where it unveiled a new HarmonyOS tablet and its Windows laptop. The MatePad Pro 11 2024 is the same device that recently appeared on Geekbench with an updated Kirin 9000s chipset, while the MateBook D16 2024 is configurable with up to an Intel 13th gen Core i9 processor.

The latest MatePad Pro tablet from Huawei boasts an 11-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 px, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 600 nits peak brightness. The slate has an aluminum chassis and six speakers and is just 5.9 mm thick.

The MatePad Pro 11 also debuts Huawei’s Kirin 9000s chipset with a 1+3+4 CPU configuration. The performance core is clocked @ 2.49 GHz and is joined by 3x cores @ 2.15 GHz and 4x efficiency cores @ 1.53 GHz.

The recent Geekbench listing revealed synthetic performance in line with the regular Kirin 9000s and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865. The tablet is joined by 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage and is also the first MatePad to support two-way Beidou Satellite messaging.
The back brings a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. You also get a 16MP front-facing camera housed in a punch-hole cutout. The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 4, while the 8,300 mAh battery offers 66W charging support. Additionally, you get Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and support for the third generation Huawei M-Pencil.
The MatePad Pro 11 2024 comes in grey, blue, white, and black colors. Prices start at CNY 4,199 ($592) for the 12/256GB trim, while the 12/512GB version is priced at CNY 4,699 ($663).
MateBook D16 2024
The MateBook Pro D16 2024 features a 16-inch IPS LCD with 1920 × 1200 px resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and up to 300 nits peak brightness. There’s a 1080p webcam integrated into the top edge, as well as a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. Huawei includes a full-sized keyboard with a numpad, five-point touchpad, dual speakers, and dual microphones.
The baseline model brings a 13th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and Intel UHD graphics, while the higher-end models get i7 and i9 processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. All models are equipped with 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and a 1TB M.2 SSD of the 2280 variety.
I/O includes 1x USB3.2 Gen1 (Type-A), 1x USB2.0 (Type-A), 1x USB3.2 Gen1 (Type-C) with support for DisplayPort 1.2, 1x HDMI, and a headphone/microphone combination connector. The software side is covered by Windows 11 Home Edition, and you also get Wi-Fi 6e and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. There’s a 70Wh battery with 65W charging over USB-C.
The MateBook D16 2024 comes in space gray and silver colors. The baseline Core i5 model is priced at CNY 4,999 ($705), the Core i7 version is CNY 5,999 ($847), while the Core i9 model is priced at CNY 6,499 ($917)
