Ahead of the Indian launch of sales of the iQOO 12 smartphone, scheduled for December 12, new details about the device have become known. In particular, the company accommodated users halfway by extending the support period and abandoning the pre-installation of third-party software.
As announced by the CEO of iQOO India, the new iQOO 12 will receive three Android updates and four years of security patches. The smartphone comes with Android 14 and the proprietary OriginOS 4 interface, so potential buyers can expect to upgrade to Android 17.
A much more important announcement was the lack of third-party pre-installed software. Previously, users of iQOO smartphones could see various popular applications and games on the screen, which were actually links to download them in the vivo app store. In the new iQOO 12, the company decided to abandon such advertising for third-party applications.
