In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicts that the Vision Pro will likely debut “sometime around March.” That’s the firmest timeframe we’ve had yet for the $3,499 headset.
Gurman shares that Apple intended to release the Vision Pro in January 2024, but the company is still behind on its distribution plans and doing final testing.
Reportedly, Apple will sell the Vision Pro by appointment in its retail stores and on its website. The headset won’t be available from third-party partners as Apple wants to carefully time the launch of the Vision Pro.
The Vision Pro comes with a variety of SKUs, including prescription lenses and different sized headbands, making it difficult to stock in many brick-and-mortar stores.
Apple has been slowly preparing for the launch of the Vision Pro – the latest visionOS beta includes onboard content, including videos, while iOS 17.2 beta brings Vision Pro features such as AirPlay receiver and support for spatial videos on iPhone 15 Pro models.
