Two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso finished in the points in Las Vegas, but Alonso was not completely satisfied with the race weekend. Alonso was particularly dissatisfied with the street circuit in Las Vegas, which, despite a grand show, was not fun to drive on, especially for the F1 pilots.
“You get little pleasure from driving at 360 km/h on this kind of circuit, with no grip, no visibility and you bounce like crazy,” Alonso criticized the street circuit in Las Vegas despite his points finish. “I realize that from the outside the show probably looks good, but these cars are not made to take corners at 80 km/h.”
“These cars are made to go to Suzuka, Barcelona and Silverstone and maximize their potential, so we have to take that into account when setting the calendar.”
“It is something that we do but I think we should not go too much in this direction, we should also keep the traditional races on the calendar where an F1 car can shine.”
