After a few challenging months, Sergio Perez expressed his satisfaction with his performance in Brazil, where he was able to display his true speed, despite narrowly missing out on a podium finish.
Perez reflected on the Brazilian GP, stating, “I think the speed has always been there in recent weekends, but for some reason we have not been able to get everything right. It was only a matter of time before the speed was back.”
While Perez wished for a podium placement, he congratulated Fernando for his impressive race. “I would have liked to be on the podium, it hurts not to be there, but I must also say that I am happy for Fernando because he drove a good race.”
In addition, Perez performed admirably in the battle for second place in the championship, now holding a 32-point lead over Lewis Hamilton with two race weekends remaining. “It was a good race weekend for the championship as we moved closer to second place,” Perez stated.
Perez also expressed his optimism for the upcoming races, highlighting his eagerness to showcase his full capabilities. “Now let’s look forward to Vegas, because it’s only a matter of time before I can show what I’m really capable of,” he remarked.
