Samsung has recently announced that official software support has been discontinued for several of its branded smartphones. This includes the first-generation foldable Galaxy Fold, multiple devices from the A-series, and a tablet from the Galaxy Tab family.
In the official road map updates, the original Galaxy Fold, Galaxy A70s, A50s, A30s, A20s, and Galaxy Tab Active Pro tablet are no longer listed. These devices were released four years ago and have reached their software end-of-life.
While some devices will continue to receive occasional patches, the frequency will be reduced. For example, security updates for the Galaxy M22 and M52 5G will now be released once every six months instead of four times a year. Additionally, both smartphones will not receive Android 14.
