Sony Xperia IV Review
Sony has impressed with the swift release of the Android 14 update for the Xperia IV. Currently, only Google Pixel devices and a few Samsung smartphones have access to the latest Android version. However, many more phones are scheduled to receive the update in the coming months. Keep an eye on our Android 14 update overview for updates.
The Xperia IV is Sony’s flagship smartphone, available in the Netherlands since June. With a price tag of 1,399 euros, it is worth exploring if the features of this device justify its high cost. To learn more, read our in-depth Sony Xperia IV review.
The Sony Xperia IV proves to be a superior smartphone compared to its predecessor. It operates at a cooler temperature and delivers the high-end performance expected from a flagship device. The refined design and extended battery life are also appreciated.
That being said, there are areas that require improvement. For a device costing 1,399 euros, the subpar fingerprint scanner is a disappointment. Additionally, the update policy is relatively underwhelming considering the premium price. Furthermore, the telephoto lens, while impressive on paper, produces mediocre photos in practice.
We highly recommend the Xperia IV for creative individuals. The main camera performs well and offers countless possibilities when combined with the extensive app. The elongated screen can also function as a monitor for other cameras, though a slightly wider display would be preferable for daily use.
