About two weeks after the US GP, the Haas F1 team has lodged a Right of Review requesting a review of the race result, particularly looking into possible track limit infringements that may warrant additional penalties. Red Bull, Aston Martin, and Williams have also been summoned by the FIA.
The Haas F1 team appears to be seeking to improve their positions and gain additional points through the imposition of further penalties. Both Williams drivers finished marginally ahead of Nico Hulkenberg, within a five-second gap. If Alex Albon, who is already under investigation, and Logan Sargeant receive time penalties, the Haas F1 team and Hulkenberg could reap the benefits.
At Aston Martin, the focus seems to be on Lance Stroll as the only driver who finished in the points. Red Bull is also required to present their case, primarily regarding Sergio Perez. It is alleged that Perez exceeded track limits at Turn 6 on more than twenty occasions. If Perez is given varying time penalties for this offense, it remains uncertain where he will ultimately be classified.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, where the Haas F1 team will need to present compelling new evidence to convince the stewards. Failure to do so will result in the case being dismissed and the Right of Review being rejected.
