After a promising performance from Mercedes in Mexico, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell faced disappointment during the sprint race in Brazil. Hamilton is eagerly awaiting the end of the season when he will no longer have to compete with the Mercedes W14 car.
Hamilton started the sprint race in fifth place but finished in seventh, a result that both he and Mercedes had not anticipated. It was yet another race filled with frustration for the seven-time world champion.
“In recent races, we had been pleased with the progress we made, and it was genuinely encouraging,” said Hamilton. “But then we arrived at a different circuit and experienced the worst tire wear in ages.”
It’s as if we never know what to expect from this car. Just a few more races, and I’ll finally be done. I’m eagerly counting down the days,” Hamilton added.
Hamilton also speculated whether there may have been an issue with the car’s setup. “Perhaps there was a mistake in the adjustments we made. It is what it is,” he said.
