Huawei has recently announced that the Huawei P30 and Mate 20 series will be updated to HarmonyOS 4 in the first quarter of 2024.
Interestingly, this update will only be available for Chinese units, which is unexpected as these series were not initially included in the official list of supported devices. Currently, Huawei’s flagship devices are the Mate 40 and Mate 50, as well as the P50 and P60 series.
HarmonyOS 4 was introduced in the summer and boasts features such as a faster and more efficient Ark Engine, new widgets, a customizable lock screen, a Dynamic Island-like Live Window, and more. This software is designed to be compatible with various hardware, including smartphones, tablets, TVs, and even cars. To date, it has already been implemented on over 100 million devices.
