Industry insiders have revealed that Samsung is partnering with leading chip manufacturers, AMD and Qualcomm, to develop FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology. This groundbreaking advancement is expected to be featured in Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones, including the Galaxy S24.
FSR technology leverages AI to enhance frame rate and resolution while minimizing the impact on game graphics. This innovative approach enables users to enjoy smoother, more detailed gameplay, even without ray tracing. Comparable to NVIDIA DLSS technology, FSR is poised to set new standards in the industry.
Notably, the Apple A17 Pro and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 already support ray tracing. When combined with MetalFX Upscaling and FSR, mobile devices will be capable of delivering ray-traced gaming experiences at optimal frame rates.
Preliminary leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S24 will be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, depending on the market. Given the existing support for FSR in the latter, it is highly likely that Samsung’s own chip will also incorporate similar cutting-edge technology.
