Red Bull Team Boss Christian Horner Applauds Max Verstappen’s Spectacular Start at the Mexican Grand Prix
Max Verstappen demonstrated an incredible start from the third position on the starting grid in Mexico, quickly overtaking both Ferraris at the first corner and taking the lead. According to Christian Horner, this remarkable performance was a result of the unique weather conditions and Verstappen’s lightning-fast reactions.
“Our starts haven’t been our strongest suit this year, but all three starts we had today were phenomenal,” Horner expressed to the media. “Given the historical significance of today’s day, along with the specific track conditions and elevations, the team executed everything flawlessly.”
In contrast to his teammate Sergio Perez, who found himself in a tussle with Charles Leclerc and subsequently retired from the race, Verstappen skillfully maneuvered through the first corner unscathed.
The Dutch driver utilized his experience on the narrow straight, which happens to be one of the lengthiest stretches in the entire race calendar, to his advantage.
“I wasn’t nervous at all. It’s not the first time I’ve approached the first corner with cars packed around me,” said Verstappen.
“But we all trust each other, and when it comes to braking into the corner, we’re all on the edge. Thankfully, everything went smoothly.”
