According to Carlos Sainz, Ferrari must analyze why the starts in Mexico were not as good as in previous races. The poor starts of both Leclerc and himself allowed Max Verstappen to quickly take the lead during the start of the Mexican GP.
Sainz commented on the starts after the Mexican GP, stating that neither of them had a very good start.
He mentioned that both Charles and himself started in a similar way, while Verstappen had a very quick start.
Sainz explained that Ferrari had been facing start problems throughout the race weekend at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
On this particular track surface and with the level of grip we had, we have encountered start problems since the first practice session,” said Sainz. “After having some impressive starts in recent races, we probably didn’t get everything right for this weekend. So it’s something we need to address.”
Sainz then reflected on the start of the race where Verstappen immediately pulled up next to him.
“I saw Max right beside me right from the start. It’s something we need to analyze,” Sainz said, looking back at the race’s beginning.
