Leaks and teasers for the OnePlus 12 have been surfacing all over the internet, and now we have official confirmation about the primary camera sensor for the upcoming phone. OnePlus has partnered with Sony to bring the innovative Lytia dual-layer stacked sensor to the OnePlus 12, making it the first phone to debut this groundbreaking sensor globally.

The new stacked CMOS sensor, featuring 2-layer transistor pixel technology, incorporates separate layers for the transistor and photodiode. This innovative design allows for larger diodes and more efficient light capture. Other BBK brands, Oppo and Vivo, have also joined forces with Sony’s Lytia earlier this year, indicating that the upcoming Find X6 and Vivo X100 phones are likely to adopt the same dual-layer stacked sensors for their main cameras.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a 50MP Sony IMX966 main sensor, accompanied by a 64MP telephoto module (OmniVision OV64B) with 3x optical zoom and a 48MP ultra-wide lens. Additionally, we have received confirmation that the OnePlus 12 will boast a BOE-developed LTPO OLED display.
The OnePlus 12 is rumored to launch in China next month, followed by a global release in early 2024.
