Lewis Hamilton thinks that Red Bull has already shifted the focus to next year and that work is already underway in Milton Keynes on next season’s car. A less good race weekend like in Singapore is always possible.
“I haven’t really seen much from others this weekend, so I don’t really know why they’re off pace-wise,” he said. “But I love seeing others join them. The McLarens have made a huge amount of pace, it’s great to see Ferrari really stepping up their game and I think it’s positive.”
But if you think about it, I think they probably haven’t developed. Clearly McLaren has brought an upgrade here – others are bringing upgrades, they are working on next year’s car. They have less time in the wind tunnel, so they’re probably using some of this year’s cars for next year’s.
“So no, I think it’s one of those things. They have such a clear lead that they may develop their car less and we are still developing our current car, but time will tell.”
