Vivo has expanded its line of affordable Y-series smartphones with a new model. The gadget, called the vivo Y17s, has a balanced hardware configuration and is aimed at budget-conscious users interested in mobile photography.
The vivo Y17s is equipped with a 6.56-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution (269 ppi), a 60 Hz refresh rate, backlight brightness up to 480 cd/m², and 83% NTSC color gamut coverage. In the area of the drop-shaped cutout at the top center of the matrix, there is an 8-megapixel front camera. The main camera includes a 50 MP main sensor and a depth of field sensor for background blur (2 MP). The device body is protected from dust and splashes according to the IP54 standard.
The eight-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor, coupled with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 128GB eMMC 5.1 drive (expandable using a microSD card), is responsible for the performance of the new product. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh and supports a 15-watt power supply. The smartphone also includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 modules, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The vivo Y17s is currently available for purchase in Singapore for $176.
