The iPhone 15 lineup became available for pre-order in the first wave of countries last Friday, and we now have some initial estimates on its performance. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will capture most of consumers’ attention, surpassing the initial demand for last year’s iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The demand for the entry-level iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is in line with last year’s iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. However, when looking at the iPhone 15 Pro, Kuo suggests that the demand is lower this year as more users are seeking the enhanced camera experience offered by the larger Pro Max model.
Wait times for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are “significantly” longer than those for last year’s 14 Pro Max. This is not only due to increased demand but also because of ongoing production challenges and a revised production schedule. Finally, Kuo expects the iPhone 15 series to achieve a combined 80 million shipments by the end of the year.
