Carlos Sainz Jr. was the man who managed to stop Red Bull’s winning streak in Singapore, but the Spaniard is realistic and does not believe that one swallow makes spring.
“I think Singapore gave us the opportunity and we grabbed it with both hands,” said Sainz, “But I still think Red Bull will be above it for the rest of the season and they will be very, very, very difficult will be beatable.”
He thinks that the competition still needs to find a lot of speed to be able to fight for victories on a regular basis.
“I just think it would be great for F1 if Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, Aston, we were two, three tenths faster every race to challenge them in the races,” he said. “I think the racing this year would be incredible if it were eight riders fighting for the win, a bit like we saw today with four or five guys fighting for the win on a street circuit.
“So it shows what potential F1 has to put on an incredible show. But it is true that if Red Bull gets the car this year and they do such a great job, they deserve to win everything they win.”
