In Monza we saw intense battle between Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. According to Sainz, we will not see a repeat of such a battle in Singapore. Sainz and Leclerc would also accept team orders if Ferrari can win the race.

“First of all, I am sure that the characteristics of the circuit are not such that we can have nice wheel-to-wheel battles like in Monza, which was a nice battle,” said Sainz.

“This circuit is very, very different. And of course we will have to see if we can beat Mercedes to get the cars in first and second place.”

“I am sure that the team will prefer the overall team result so that we can try to win.”

Teammate Charles Leclerc also enjoyed the battle with teammate Carlos Sainz during the race in Monza, but like Sainz he expects the team result to prevail.

“I agree with Carlos. I think the Monza circuit allows such battles,” said Leclerc. “But I believe the philosophy will be the same when we come under pressure from Mercedes, I am sure the positions will be locked in.”

“When we have the other cars well behind us, which I hope will be the case, then we will see what the team decides. But in the end we will obey the team.”
