Just like during the first practice session, two Ferraris were at the top of the results at the end of the second practice session. After Charles Leclerc had set the fastest time during the first practice session, it was Carlos Sainz who was the fastest this time. World Championship leader Max Verstappen drove the eighth fastest time in the Red Bull.

During the first practice session on the Singapore street circuit we found both Ferraris at the very top. However, that session was held at a warmer time and in ‘daylight’. Given that the Singapore GP is a ‘night race’ and the second practice session was held at a later time, the times of that session are much more important.

A night race often produces spectacular images and with the so-called ‘sparks’ that fly away from the F1 cars, the photographers can take beautiful pictures. As far as the drivers are concerned, it is about pushing the limits as best as possible and sometimes driving right up to the wall.

Every millimeter counts to ‘find lap time’ and go faster. Especially on street circuits, going over the limit is punished mercilessly. For the riders it is therefore a matter of finding the balance between taking risks and therefore trying to go faster or sometimes crashing.

At the end of the second practice session we again found both Ferraris at the top. This time it was Carlos Sainz who set the fastest time, followed by teammate Charles Leclerc. George Russell completed the top three in the Mercedes while Max Verstappen set the eighth fastest time.
