The Sharp Aquos smartphone family has expanded with the new R8s Pro model. The device, based on the flagship Qualcomm processor, has received an upgraded camera module, a generous amount of memory, and a capacious battery with fast charging capability. Additionally, the company has introduced a more affordable basic version of the device.
The Sharp Aquos R8s Pro is equipped with a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED screen with a resolution of 1260×2730 pixels, a refresh rate of 240 Hz, and a peak brightness of 2000 cd/m². The smartphone’s performance is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor combined with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of expandable storage (via microSD card up to 1 TB) using UFS 4.0 technology.
The device features a dual rear camera comprising a primary sensor with a resolution of 47.2 megapixels and an auxiliary spectral sensor of 1.9 megapixels. The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with support for fast wired and wireless charging, running on Android 13 with the AQUOS UX 13 shell.
The basic version of the device, called Aquos R8s, features a 6.4-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It is equipped with a 4570 mAh battery and 8 GB of RAM. The device’s primary rear camera sensor is 1/1.55-inch (50.3 megapixels), accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera has an 8-megapixel resolution.
The Sharp Aquos R8s Pro is priced at $1018 in China, while the Aquos R8s model is priced at $735.
