OnePlus has teased the launch of the upcoming OnePlus Pad Go tablet in India. The company has exclusively revealed the device’s render with Digital Trends before its launch. OnePlus is also working on many other products, including OnePlus 12 5G, OnePlus 12R 5G, OnePlus Watch 4, and more.
OnePlus debuted the original OnePlus Watch and the OnePlus 9 series smartphones in March 2021 in India. The watch runs on an RTOS-based operating system, which doesn’t feature any dedicated app store. The company later launched an affordable smartwatch under the OnePlus Nord moniker. A tipster has revealed the key specifications and model number of the upcoming OnePlus Watch.
OnePlus Watch 4 Expected Specifications
The leak comes from an X (formerly Twitter) user with the user id “realMlgmXyysd,” a coder and tipster. The user claims that the upcoming OPPO Watch 4 will be launched in selected global markets under the OnePlus Watch 4 moniker. The upcoming smartwatch will bear the model number OWW231 for the Chinese variant of OPPO Watch 4.
The global variant and OnePlus-branded variant will have the model numbers OWWE231 and OPWWE231. The upcoming smartwatch will have the codename and project ID as star and 23912. The tipster reveals that the BBK-group-owned companies will equip the smartwatch with a round display.
The primary reason for this is the difficulties created by Google in manufacturing squared smartwatches to equip Wear OS. The tipster confirms that the upcoming OnePlus/OPPO watch will have an AMOLED display with a 466 x 466 pixels resolution. The forthcoming OnePlus Watch 4 Pro will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 Wearable Platform SoC.
The chipset is built on a 4nm process and features four Cortex A53 cores, one Cortex M55 efficiency core at 2.5GHz, and A702 GPU at 1GHz. The OEM will also equip the smartwatch with a BES 2700 co-processor to handle low-power operations. The tipster adds that OnePlus will launch the smartwatch in Black and White color options.
The Chinese variant of the smartphone will run on ColorOS for Watch 6.0 based on Android 11 Go out of the box. The global variant of the device will ship with the latest Wear OS out of the box. The smartwatch features Widevine L3, indicating that it doesn’t offer HD playback.
The tipster confirms the upcoming device will feature two functional buttons and a crown. The Chinese variant of the smartwatch is tipped to be equipped with ColorOS 14 Sound, RTOS WeChat & WeChat Pay, RTOS CJK Fonts, and more. Both variants of the smartwatch will feature support for eSIM, barometer, ECG, colorful AOD, and Fist Clench Gestures.
The upcoming smartwatch can track the user’s blood oxygen, stress, sleep, sports, health, etc. The tipster also confirms that OPPO is also working on the OPPO Watch 4 Pro, which will run on Wear OS for the international markets. A recent report also revealed Vivo is working on Vivo Watch 3, which will debut along with Vivo X100 series smartphones.
