Earlier this year, OnePlus launched its first tablet in India, the OnePlus Pad. The tablet garnered significant attention with its 144Hz screen and Dimensity 9000 processor, all at an attractive price. The company has been teasing a Go version of the OnePlus Pad, expected to be launched in the budget segment.
OnePlus has confirmed the display specifications of the upcoming OnePlus Pad Go. According to details shared by the company, the OnePlus Pad Go will offer a similar display experience to the OnePlus Pad, but at mid-tier pricing.
OnePlus Pad Go Display Specifications Confirmed by OnePlus
In an interview with Digital Trends, Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus, confirmed the display specifications of the OnePlus Pad Go. He stated that the bezel thickness on the OnePlus Pad Go would be identical to its elder cousin, the OnePlus Pad.
Liu also added that the OnePlus Pad Go would feature a 2.4K display. The decision to use a high-resolution panel is to provide the best visual experience to the user, he added. Based on this information, the OnePlus Pad is expected to have an 11.6-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 2800 x 2000.
The refresh rate of the display was not disclosed by Liu in the interview. However, considering his statement that OnePlus aims to offer a similar visual experience on the OnePlus Pad Go as its pricier sibling, a refresh rate of at least 120Hz can be expected.
OnePlus Pad Go To Make File Sharing Easier
Liu also mentioned that the OnePlus Pad Go would offer seamless file sharing between OnePlus devices. He stated that OnePlus aims to create its ecosystem. The OnePlus Pad Go will introduce a new Content Sync feature, enabling users to quickly share media and the clipboard from their OnePlus smartphone to the OnePlus Pad Go.
The new file-sharing system will work with a drag-and-drop gesture, eliminating the need to use the same account or any other logins on both devices. The company will provide an actual demonstration of this feature during the launch.
OnePlus is also developing a feature that allows users to take calls on any OnePlus device they have. All devices in the OnePlus Ecosystem will seamlessly share screens without the need for a WiFi hotspot.
According to Liu, OnePlus has put significant effort into refining the software experience on its tablets. The upcoming OnePlus Pad Go will run on Oxygen OS 13, based on Android 13, and will soon receive an update to Oxygen OS 14.
When asked about a tentative launch date for the OnePlus Pad Go, Mr. Liu did not provide a clear answer. He simply stated that the company’s schedule is jam-packed. OnePlus will soon release the OnePlus Go in global markets. He also mentioned that the company will launch its first foldable device, OnePlus Open, following the launch of the OnePlus Pad Go tablet.
