Motorola unveiled the Edge 40 Pro in April and followed it up a month later with the Edge 40. Today, the company has expanded the Edge 40 lineup by announcing the Motorola Edge 40 Neo.
The Motorola Edge 40 Neo is powered by the Dimensity 7030 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with up to 256GB of onboard storage and runs Android 13 out of the box with support for Moto Connect and Ready For.
The smartphone is built around a 6.55″ FullHD+ 10-bit POLED curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It has DCI-P3 coverage and a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. The display also has HDR10+ certification, a fingerprint reader at the bottom for biometric authentication, and a centered punch hole for the 32MP selfie camera.
Around the back, we have a camera island housing a flash and two cameras – a 50MP primary with OIS and a 13MP ultra-wide with a 120° FOV. The latter has autofocus for macro shots. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo comes in three colors – PANTONE Black Beauty, PANTONE Soothing Sea, and PANTONE Caneel Bay. The black version’s back panel is acrylic, while the backs of the other two models are made from vegan leather, making them slightly thicker and heavier than the black variant.
The rest of the Motorola Edge 40 Neo’s highlights include an IP68 rating, 5G support, and NFC. The smartphone also comes with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, and the whole package includes a 5,000mAh battery with 68W charging. Motorola says the bundled 68W power adapter can charge the 5,000mAh cell from flat to 50% in 15 minutes.
Motorola also mentioned that the Edge 40 Neo is “made to last and love,” and to reinforce the company’s commitment to a more sustainable future, the smartphone is sold in 100% plastic-free packaging, with soy ink and 60% recycled material.

The Lenovo-owned brand has also partnered with agood company for the Edge 40 Neo’s protective case, which comes in three colors to match the phone’s color. When it’s time to change the case, agood will reuse the old case to create something new, preventing waste.
