Before the announcement of the HUAWEI nova 12 series of smartphones, an insider from China has revealed key details about their hardware. According to this source, the future devices, including the flagship Mate 60, will feature “home” Kirin processors, although a different chip model will be used.

If this source is to be believed, all the devices in the HUAWEI nova 12 series will be powered by the Kirin 830 mobile platform, instead of the Snapdragon processors used in the previous generation smartphones. This information aligns with rumors from August about the company starting the production of new branded SoCs.
The insider claims that the Kirin 830 architecture is similar to the flagship 9000s chip, but the new product will have fewer cores. It is also reported that the nova 12 series smartphones will feature “some unique features” from the Mate 60 model, and their price will remain consistent with the nova 11 series.
HUAWEI’s next presentation is scheduled for September 14, but it is currently unknown whether the company will unveil new mid-range smartphones on that day.
