Apple’s iPhone 15 event has concluded, and it was a significant one.
All iPhone 15 models now come equipped with USB-C ports! The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have been upgraded with the Dynamic Island notch and a new 48MP main camera. However, the sensor is smaller compared to the Pros’ 48MP unit, but it captures images at 24MP by default.
The Pros have received the most significant upgrades. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have replaced the heavy stainless steel with a stronger, more durable, and lighter titanium alloy, featuring a brushed finish in four colors – Black, White, Blue, and Natural Titanium.
The major updates in the Pro line include the cameras and the A17 Pro chipset. Let’s start with the latter – it is the world’s first 3nm SoC, offering a 10% faster processor and up to 20% faster graphics.
Both new Pros now have a larger sensor 48MP main camera, along with new ultra-wide shooters. Additionally, the Pro Max features an exclusive 5x telephoto camera, thanks to a tetraprism periscope design. This camera is an iPhone zoom revolution that Apple spent years designing.
Lastly, we have the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2. The most significant update to these smart wearables is the S9 system-in-package (SiP), which contains 60% more transistors than the outgoing S8 series chip. It boasts a 30% faster GPU and a new 4-core NPU.
But that’s not all – the S9 SiP allows Siri requests to be processed on the device, resulting in much faster results as it eliminates the need to go to the cloud and back. Apple also promises 25% more accurate voice dictation.
The Series 9 introduces a killer new feature called Double Tap. It is a pinch gesture using your thumb and index finger, similar to how you use the Apple Vision Pro headset.
