Next weekend the Singapore GP will be held on a modified street circuit. The adjustments would make the lap time for a lap through the streets of Singapore about 10 to 20 seconds faster.
Because work is underway to redevelop the ‘Float at Marina Bay’ into the ‘NS Square’, the street circuit for the F1 race is being adapted. The section between turns 16 and 19 has now become one long straight section. This reduces the number of bends from 23 to 19.
According to simulations, lap times will be between ten and twenty seconds faster. Adjusting the street circuit ensures that the number of laps to be completed is increased from 61 to 63.
