Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has published a report regarding the future of the iPhone mini line of smartphones. Unfortunately, the outlook is not promising. According to the analyst, there are fewer and fewer iPhone 13 minis available in Apple warehouses, and users may not expect a new model.
So far, the company has only released two mini versions of the smartphone – the iPhone 12 and 13 (the latter was introduced in 2021). This could potentially be the final device in the series. Gurman draws this conclusion based on the fact that Apple is not replenishing warehouses with new units of the device due to poor sales.
According to analysts at CIRP, the market share of the compact version of the iPhone 13 at the beginning of 2022 was only 3% among all branded devices. According to journalists from Mac Rumors, Apple may cease production of this model immediately after the unveiling of the iPhone 15, resulting in the following current device lineup:
- iPhone 15 (6.1″)
- iPhone 15 Plus (6.1″)
- iPhone 15 Pro (6.7″)
- iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.7″)
- iPhone SE 2022 (4.7″)
- iPhone 13 (6.1″)
Rumors suggest that the iPhone SE will also soon be discontinued, with a 6.1-inch device in the iPhone 14 body taking its place. This is expected to happen within the next year or two. In the meantime, the iPhone 13 mini is still available for purchase, selling for $599 in the US.
