Nokia Mobile is making a big push in India with the Nokia G42 5G. They’ve not only made it the first Nokia 5G smartphone to be manufactured in India, but they’ve also priced it well below the global average price. Additionally, the company has enlisted the Indian actress Mrunal Thakur as the face of the smartphone. The last time Nokia collaborated with a celebrity in India was in 2021 for the Nokia 3.4 and Nokia 2.4.
The Nokia G42 5G is the most affordable 5G smartphone offered by the company so far. It boasts a QuickFix design with a focus on self-repairability. However, HMD Global has yet to confirm if spare parts from iFixit will be available in India. This feature holds limited value without access to those spare parts.

In one of its final launch teasers, Nokia hinted at a price above ₹16,000. However, they surprised everyone by announcing a launch price of just ₹12,599 ($152, €142) for the 6/128 GB variant. The sale starts at 12 PM on September 15th on Amazon. The newly launched “So Pink” shade of the Nokia G42 5G will be available in India, along with the So Purple and So Grey shades.
Nokia Mobile has not revealed all the details yet, but the price is marked with a *. This likely means that customers will need to take advantage of offers to achieve that price, and the actual price might be slightly higher. We will update the post with more details as they become available.
