The AlphaTauri F1 team will introduce an important update to its F1 car in Singapore. The package of updates should allow the AT04 to take an important step forward and is also called a ‘Red Bull upgrade’.

AlphaTauri is currently experiencing a very difficult and disappointing season. The racing stable has only achieved three points so far and is therefore very last in the World Cup standings. All hopes are now pinned on an important package of updates that will be introduced next race weekend in Singapore.

The package of updates is called by many a ‘Red Bull upgrade’ because AlphaTauri will therefore adopt more characteristics of the Red Bull RB19.

“There are no quick fixes,” said Peter Bayer, CEO of AlphaTauri, to ‘PlanetF1’. “I mean, we’ve seen some amazing steps forward this year, with Aston Martin but also McLaren suddenly taking a big step forward.”

“I think a lot of this was due to the fact that they all understood that what Red Bull was doing in terms of design philosophy was the right thing, especially with the new Downforce aspect that everyone is following.”

“We have a major upgrade that will be introduced in Singapore. It follows the same philosophy so everyone is trying to utilize that and I think next year everything will be very close together.”
